Following „This is Football“ and „KROOS“ I worked on „Schwarze Adler“ (Black Eagles). For this very emotional documentary, I was in charge of the interview requests and archive research. Probably one of the most important films I have been able to work on in recent years.

Story: SCHWARZE ADLER (Black Eagles) is a feature documentary focusing on the experience of ex-national team players of colour for Germany’s Women’s and Men’s national football teams. These trailblazing men and women share their personal stories and experiences of how they arrived to the top of the sport. What obstacles did they need to overcome? Which prejudices and racial hostilities were they faced with? How was it for the first generation of players—and how is it for today’s footballing heroes?
